  The Judicial Automation Department develops and maintains case management and other software applications for courts and administrative staff within the Unified Judicial System and provides technology support to the Supreme Court justices, their staffs and administrative staff. The department also operates and maintains the Web site of the UJS at www.pacourts.us.

Among the programs operated by the Judicial Automation Department are the Pennsylvania Appellate Court Case Management System (PACMS), an integrated system that serves the Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth courts; the Common Pleas Case Management System (CPCMS), a statewide system that includes criminal case dockets, accounting and other functions for the trial courts; and the Magisterial District Judge System (MDJS), a statewide system that provides case management and accounting functions to magisterial district judges and their staffs.
