The Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) is a collaborative effort of 16 state agencies to build a secure integrated justice system which promotes information sharing through the use of its applications, services, architecture and outreach and training. JNET allows information from criminal justice and other related resources to be shared among federal, state, county and municipal agencies. Information makes its way to the end user through two sources - a secure Web-based interface and XML-based messaging. The JNET Web site uses Web technology to query and link data together for the end user, giving the end user “one-stop shopping” for criminal justice and related information. In addition, messaging complements the user interface by automatically triggering system updates and notifications through publish/subscribe and request/reply message technologies.
